LYCASTES/ANGULOA |
|
Lycastes and Anguloas (the'Tulip Orchid') require little care, out of the ordinary, and can produce wonderful exhibition plants, whether species, or hybrids. WSO will be offering many line-bred Lycaste species in the coming years, as well as innovative hybrids inspired by Dr.Henry Oakeley. These include hybrids targeting high degrees of floriferousness and compact plant habit. Plants will produce 2-10 flowers per bulb and bloom in a 3-4 inch pot!! Note: A recent communique from Dr. Oakeley proposes the addition of over 30 newly described Lycaste species since the first publication of his book in 1993! A significant number of these occur in Panama and Central America. We have a number of unidentified or misidentified species in cultivation that we are working to identify. Some of these have been propagated from seed and may be available soon.
